The old stones whisper,
close your eyes... and listen to them.
2800 years of history contemplate this spectacular ford, where Tartessian influence was noticeable in the prosperous Conisturgis, Metellinum´s precedent, settlement who was founded by the famous Roman consul Quintus Caecilius Metellus. Elder sister, though less known, of the neighbouring Emerita Augusta (today `Mérida´), the Colonia Metellinensis strengthened the population of the beautiful fertile valley in this stretch of the river Guadiana. The old stones of the Roman theater, the Romanesque charming breath of its medieval churches and the grandeur of the Baroque bridge are just a part of the appeal of Medellín, surrounded by breathtaking sceneries, where water sports, hunting and ecotourism merge with the inspiration of its heritage and the quality of its services.
